Deactivate a Person or Turn Off Their Comments

Two quick switches live in every person's actions menu that aren't the same as archiving or changing membership status: Deactivate pauses them out of your active views, and Disable Comments stops them commenting on your announcements.

In the People directory, we'll search for the person, then open their actions menu — from the People list or their own profile. Click Deactivate. They're flagged inactive — still in your directory, but out of your default Active People view. Click Activate any time to bring them back. Disable Comments is a different switch, right below it. Click it. They can no longer comment on your announcements or news posts — everything else on their profile stays untouched. Click Enable Comments to restore it.
