Lesson 7 of 21 · 0:58Updated Oct 2026

What you will learn

Open or closed, instant join or leader approval, a capacity with an automatic waitlist: this is where you decide exactly how someone gets into your group. Once a group is full, anyone new who joins from your Group Finder lands on a waitlist. Closed enrollment takes the group off the Group Finder. With guest registration turned off, visitors are asked to sign in first. New public groups start with guest registration on. TimelyChurch is church management software, learn more at timely.church.

Decide exactly who gets in, and how. On the Groups page, click Public, open Prayer Warriors, and click Edit. Max Members is your capacity. Leave it empty for no limit. Enrollment is Open or Closed. Check Require approval, and the helper text explains it: new members need leader approval to join. The other checkboxes cover guest registration, the online signup form, hiding the member count, and RSVPs. Each one has a plain-English line under it. Click Save, and new joins now wait for a leader.
