Approve or Deny a Join Request

Lesson 11 of 21 · 0:32Updated Oct 2026

What you will learn

Someone asked to join your group. Here's how to say yes or no, and what each answer does. Approving adds them to the roster right away, with a welcome email and, if they have a portal login, a notice there too. Denying sends them nothing. Say yes to a join request. On the Groups page, we'll open Eastside Life Group. When someone asks to join, a Requests tab appears with a count. Click it. Here's who asked, their note, and when. Click Approve, and Angela is on the roster, and the Requests tab disappears. Deny asks you to confirm, then removes the request. Nothing is sent to the person, so follow up personally if it matters.
